a poem where thought spirals slow and the soul comes stirred
He thought, therefore he drank, at first.
A mind too sharp, a world rehearsed.
But reason frays where spirits swell,
And truths unspoken start to yell.
The Scotch sat still, both bold and bare,
A Highland hush, a scholar’s stare.
Amaro whispered, dark and kind,
A velvet noose for restless mind.
The citrus blinked, an acid thread,
To cut through thoughts long left for dead.
Two dashes bitters sealed the pact,
The self-observed, then self-exact.
He sipped. He paused. The ice held tight.
His thoughts went left. His gaze went right.
And in that glass, the self-dissolved,
Not lost… just slightly less resolved.
