—A cocktail for cycles too old to break and too beautiful to survive.
You’ve had this drink. You know the note.
The bitter bloom. The smoky throat.
It’s poured the same. The glass remembers.
You’ve lit this match in past Decembers.
The Scotch returns, a tired flame,
Still warm, but never quite the same.
Amaro deep, a velvet sigh,
The echo dressed in evening’s dye.
A twist of orange, ritualized,
You watched it fall. You never cried.
You sip. The ice resists, then yields,
And once again the cycle seals.
No change. No pause. Just quiet art.
A loop you carry in your heart.
It’s grief. It’s grace. It’s one more spin.
And somehow, you still let it in.
