-This poem reflects on a summer garden as a place where care, labor, and light come together in slow growing abundance.
The rows lie dark beneath the sun,
their furrows warm with leaf and root,
beans begin to climb the stakes,
and lettuce folds its tender green.
Tomato vines take hold of twine,
the basil breathes in heat and light,
while every ordered strip of earth,
grows thick with effort, scent, and use.
No wildness rules this ground alone,
the hand has worked beside the rain,
and summer answers in return,
with leaf, and bloom, and living weight.
To walk between the growing lines,
is to feel abundance taking shape,
not all at once, but row by row,
the season made through care and time.
